BUILDING REGULATIONS

Once a project has achieved planning consent (or if it is Permitted Development), we can produce a Building Regulations set. These will be examined and eventually approved by Building Control. We engage with local authorities or, if the contractor suggests, we can register the project with a private approved Inspector.

Helping With Contractors

We can provide our clients with quotes from trusted structural engineers and coordinate our drawings with the information they provide. Our building regulations set can eventually be used by our clients as basis for a tender set to select their contractor. We can also help procure SAP calculations, which have become more commonly required since the recent changes in PART L Building Regulations.

LABC Registered Company

In 2022 LDV Architecture became an LABC registered company. We strive to meet excellent standards of quality in all our projects. In June 2022 new and revised Building Regulations came into force, including Approved Document L for Conservation of fuel and power, and Approved Document F for Ventilation. As a consequence of these changes, we have started advising our clients about the need for SAP Calculations.

We our help, our clients procure quotes from trusted specialists for this purpose. SAP calculations ensure that the new build performs efficiently and within the new limits dictated by the new Building Regulations. These also provide us with specification for the amount of insulation required in the floors, walls and roofs to meet the requested U-Values.

Structural Calculations

In regard to structure, we can help our clients to procure quotes for structural calculations from trusted structural engineers. Once an engineer has been appointed, we establish communications to ensure that the project runs smoothly and avoid any uncertainty. We will produce structural plans based on the information received from the engineer.

Our experience allows us to ensure that, together with the engineer’s expertise, we provide Building Control and eventually the building contractor with the best structural solutions possible.
